Despite not being a firm believer in her musical abilities, Janet Manyowa's dad solicited help from her husband in order to take it serious. Now the award winning Christian Contemporary Musician employs a strict regime in her multi-layered life in order to get ahead in her music and life.
Speaking on the Gospel City show on Capitalk 100.4FM with Joe Mars, the best female artist for 2018 (NAMA) revealed that she is busy working on her third studio album and the release of her track titled Makafanira is the build up to it. Like any other artist in the country, she too was affected by COVID 19 and will release her album in 2021.
Janet relies on the help of her team led by her husband Munyaradzi and has been able to monetise her music on music platforms which she says has been able to come in handy and assist during the lockdown period.
But how does an accountant, mother, wife, choir director, student juggle it all?
Janet employs a strict regime of exercising (running 3 kms four times a week), keeping her mind fit and cutting down on social media, especially WhatsApp groups which she says are serious "time wasters".
The Covid 19 restrictions have not only come with negatives for her music and life, she is thankful that she got time to be with her family more than what she had been accustomed to, speed up the building of her home studio and think innovatively on how to remain viable despite the odds.
