| Ep. 27 | Feli Nandi on her song for her mother, meeting Mbeu and industry growth.

Feli Nandi is unlikely to write another ode to her late mother after her recent release saying that this recent tune, Unotyei, is what she had always wanted to do to really describe the feeling and story behind her loss. The song, she says, really honours her memory and the impact she had on her life. Admitting to struggling after her departure, failing to make sense of it all as she grew up, she believes that she is doing what her mother had always wanted her to do. And as she reminisces, Feli believes her mother saw what she would become and would be extremely proud of her career and the woman she is today.

After losing her mother, Feli Nandi never sang again. She threw it all away and believed that there was no reason for her to even do the one thing that she knew her mother loved to see her do. She recalls mother saying she started singing at the age of three and how her mother would rarely show emotion during her performances in church as a young girl. These memories make her believe that her mother could have seen what Feli would become in the future.

Her vivid recollections of the day her mother took that public taxi ride and never came back to her has not only inspired her in life but are also the title of the track of her recent offering, "Unotyei?" (What are you afraid of?) which talks about the fragility of life. Feli could be said to be bold and brave to write about this sad moment in her life which could prove hard to perform without shedding some tears. Not only that, this single becomes the third song in which she has written in honour of her late mother.

A lot of things can be written about Feli Nandi but the most that should ever be remembered is that of a young girl who became a woman, facing losses and embracing gains, she taught herself to prevail. With encouragement from Mbeu and Comic Pastor, it is very easy to conclude that she prevailed and has the music industry in the country on lock.

Before she reaches 30 next year, with only 3 years in professional music and a thriving fashion business, Feli Nandi's rise to stardom is nothing short of miraculous and gutsy. Her nods from Jah Prayzah as a backing vocalist is another reflection of how gifted she is and who she is yet to become.
