Jay-Z and Jack Dorsey speak on the future of Tidal openly on Spaces

Joe Mars

Everybody saw the tweets, reserved a seat for the Space and tuned in numbers to listen to two of the greatest minds in the world today. Almost 10 thousand joined in and grabbed a seat and spoke about the streaming service, TIDAL which payments processing service Square has bought a "significant" majority stake.

"It was as if he was right there with me" one tweet said marvelling at Jay-Z's presence on the Space and "it seems like everyone with a verified account is in the space" said another. It was the biggest space that I had ever attended since becoming a Twitter Spaces host in April this year.

"Technology has advanced the arts" Jay said

He mentioned how artists need to "utilise these tools" to reach more people that love consuming art. Tidal as he explained it was born out of "watching the early Charlie Chaplin and those guys created something called United artists" and from there he pretty much saw himself creating a platform such as Tidal.

Jem Asward put it succinctly on his article here more than I would have done as a transcript to the entire conversation while below is the edited recorded version of the conversation.
